So I was kind of connecting those dots. I find it, in a way, an honor. Television is obviously having not just a renaissance, but it is one of the best things happening, particularly in terms of drama. So the very best writing in happening in television these days.

That was the road we were going on, and we veered completely sideways without me having really any input whatsoever. I ran up against what is reality, which is that television is a corporate medium.

In this case, it was always very safe, very beige, very middle-of-the-road corporate mentality that drove it. No matter what Juliette Lewis myself, or any of the actors, creatively did, it did not matter.

In fact, our influence was thoroughly and completely dismissed. That was the original pitch and then, boom, it got shifted. All the shows that I mentioned are outside network television. Nov 03, The first couple mins I almost shut it off, the cinematography felt like mediocre 80's.

It looks like it was shot with the same bad broadcast cameras, and from the cheap tv suits, it just didn't come across well. But I have to say, the only reason I gave it more than one chance was the main actor, and once again he showed why he constantly has work.

This isn't The Firm, in almost any way, but it is a decent tv series that has good characterization, interesting plot ideas, and enough twists and surprise legal maneuvering that I didn't feel bored, at least for the first couple episodes so far.

I can't recommend it fully yet as I haven't finished watching it. But on the strength of the first couple of episodes, I can say that so far I am surprised by how interesting it is already.
